The professional rights of graduates of the Department are described by the relevant Presidential Decree as published in the "ΦΕΚ A'/58/8.4.2009"where it is stated that:
Graduates of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, based on the general and specialized scientific knowledge they acquired during their studies, possess a knowledge background relevant to hardware and software for information collection, classification, processing, and transmission. They have the ability to engage in activities such as study, design, analysis, implementation, installation, supervision, operation, evaluation, conducting expertise, and certification in scientific fields.
a) of hardware and software of computers,
b) of information technology,
g) of systems and data communications networks, telecommunications services, and internet applications,
d) of systems and applications, graphics, signal processing, image processing, and speech processing, and
e) of telecommunications systems and networks.
Additionally, they are capable of engaging in activities such as:
a) teaching at Universities and Technological Educational Institutes, secondary education, and technical and vocational training, both public and private, at theoretical, technological, and applied levels in the scientific fields of informatics and telecommunications listed above,
b) conducting research in public and private research centers in the scientific fields of informatics and telecommunications listed above, respectively, at theoretical, technological, and applied levels,
g) providing services to the organizational units of information technology, networks, systems engineering, and technical services of ministries, public agencies, services, and enterprises, in telecommunications companies, in the banking, insurance, medical sectors, in mass media, in companies producing and processing audiovisual material, in transportation, shipping, tourism, in business consulting firms, and high-tech companies.
