The Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications (CST) actively participates in the Erasmus+ student and staff mobility program (https://piro.uoi.gr/), which is centrally managed by the corresponding office of the University of Ioannina. (https://piro.uoi.gr/erasmus/37/erasmus). Through the Erasmus+ program, undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as prospective doctoral candidates, have the opportunity to travel:
(a) for studies at Universities that have bilateral agreements with the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (dI&Τ) or
(b) for undertaking Internships at similar collaborating organizations.
In case (a), students can attend part of their study program or complete part of their bachelor's, master's, or doctoral thesis in one of the countries of the European Union. In case (b), they can work in a similar organization on a subject related to their field of study. However, student mobility is not limited to the European Union, as the active participation of the Department in Erasmus+ university partnerships also allows for exchanges with international higher education institutions from Asia, North Africa, and other regions. Today, the Department has bilateral agreements with 15 European universities under the Erasmus+ program.
The Erasmus Office, along with the Erasmus Coordinator of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (DIT), advises participants in mobility programs and assists them in addressing both substantive issues related to their academic matters during their mobility, as well as the necessary formal procedures. Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, there is also the opportunity for DIT instructors to travel for short periods to European universities to teach and deepen the University of Ioannina's relationships with corresponding universities across Europe. Furthermore, as part of the bilateral agreements of the program, the DIT welcomes instructors from various European universities who teach for short periods within the undergraduate and postgraduate study programs.
