The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Ioannina offers the opportunity to conduct Postdoctoral Research (P.D.) for young scientists holding a doctoral degree in areas falling within the research interests and knowledge subjects of the Professors and Research Laboratories, as defined in the regulations for postdoctoral research. ΦΕΚ 14287/Τεύχος Β’/1884/24.05.2018.
The main objectives of conducting Postdoctoral Research are as follows:
• Expanding the results of researchers' doctoral dissertations into new scientific directions.
• Supporting young scientists capable of contributing to the advancement of science, research, and its applications.
• Developing cutting-edge research in new areas that complement the postdoctoral researcher's previous research activities.
• The qualitative enhancement of scientific research.
•The dissemination of results and the transfer of technology know-how.
•The promotion of the Department and the University of Ioannina as institutions supporting young scientists to conduct cutting-edge research and innovative applications.
Candidates submit an application, curriculum vitae, as well as documented research proposal for postdoctoral research (publications in international journals and conferences, monographs, patents, etc.) to the Department's Secretariat. The application is approved by the Department's General Assembly. Postdoctoral researchers collaborate with the Department on research and may offer teaching duties, receiving a stipend from the Research Committee, in case they do not have a scholarship/grant or do not receive a salary from another source.
